Maoyuu Mao Yuusha is a new animation where the background story is a war of the humans countries with demons,and how this must not end for both sides because would be terrible for both sides.The anime shows us our main characters,the "hero" and a woman entitled the "Demon King",who has a crush for the "Hero",and both of them will try to end this war without bringing the problems that i've mentioned before.
I've watched the first episode which was subbed by deadfish,what i can is that this animation remembered a lot Spice and Wolf,the way that the almost couple comunicates,it's a very similiar.Therefore,if you liked Spice and wolf,you will probably like this one too,and the funny moments between them are still present,i found myself laughing in some moments.Keep in mind that maoyuu mao Yuusha tries to balance between serious moments because of the background story,and funny ones due to the couple "Hero" and "Demon",but i have the feeling that it tips more to the couple moments than the action or fighting, because it seens more an excuse for me, to work with both main characters.In conclusion,if you are looking for a more serious anime with fighting and action or a serious ambient,this one is not for you,a good first episode though.
